Indicator Guide by Page
This page shows the current Buy, Sell, or Neutral signal for each PSX symbol based on a blend of technical indicators.
How to read the table:
- Signal – Buy (green), Sell (red), or Neutral (grey). This is the final output after blending indicators and AI algorithms.
- Strength – A score from 0–100. Higher the score more strength and confidence the signal has. The signal fires when strength crosses the pre-configured threshold.
- % Change – Today’s price change versus yesterday’s close.
- Volume – Total shares traded today.
How to use it:
Look for symbols where the signal aligns with your own market view. A Buy signal alone is not sufficient, consider the strength score, recent price trend, and sector context before acting. Signals with strength close to the higher threshold and higher volume are generally more successful.
This page lets you simulate how a signal-based trading strategy would have performed historically for a specific symbol.
How it works:
The backtest buys at the next trading day’s open price after a Buy signal fires, and sells at the next trading day’s open price after a Sell signal fires. A 0.1% commission is applied on both sides of each trade.
Settings:
- Symbol – Free users can test selected symbols. Premium users can test any PSX symbol.
- Date range – Controlled by the admin setting (1, 2, or 3 years of history) and may subject to change.
- Initial capital – Rs 100,000 is used as the starting portfolio value.
How to read the results:
- Return % – Total percentage gain or loss over the period.
- Final Value – Ending portfolio value after all trades and commissions.
- Trades – Number of complete buy+sell cycles.
- Win Rate – Percentage of trades that were profitable.
Important limitations:
- The backtest uses historical signals which were generated with parameters optimized on past data. Past performance does not predict future results.
- Only one position is held at a time, the strategy buys and holds until the next Sell signal.
- Gaps between signals (long Neutral periods) leave capital uninvested.
This page shows performance, momentum, and rotation data across all PSX sectors.
Sector Summary table:
- Shows each sector’s total market cap, trading volume, advance/decline ratio, and percentage change.
- Sort by any column to find the strongest or weakest sectors.
- Use this to identify which sectors are leading the market and which are lagging.
Sector Heatmap:
- Color-coded grid showing each sector’s performance. Green = positive, Red = negative.
- Deeper colors indicate larger moves.
- Use this for a quick visual scan of market breadth across sectors.
Sector Rotation chart:
- Shows how sectors are rotating between leading, weakening, lagging, and improving phases.
- Leading (top-right): Strong momentum and strong relative performance – consider buying
- Weakening (bottom-right): Strong relative performance but losing momentum – consider taking profits
- Lagging (bottom-left): Weak momentum and weak relative performance – avoid or short
- Improving (top-left): Weak relative performance but gaining momentum – watch for entry
How to use sector analysis:
Combine sector analysis with individual stock signals. A Buy signal on a stock in a Leading sector is stronger than a Buy signal on a stock in a Lagging sector.
This page provides deep analysis for a single symbol including OHLC chart, relative strength, volume analysis, and correlation with sector and index.
OHLC Chart:
Shows the full price history as candlesticks. Each candle shows the open, high, low, and close for one trading day. Green candles = price closed higher than it opened. Red candles = price closed lower than it opened.
Relative Strength:
Compares the symbol’s performance against its sector index. A rising RS line means the stock is outperforming its sector. A falling RS line means it is underperforming. Look for stocks with rising RS lines for buy candidates.
Volume Analysis:
Unusual volume often precedes or confirms price moves. A price breakout with high volume is more reliable than one with low volume.
Correlation panel:
Shows how closely the symbol moves with its sector and with the KSE100 index. High correlation means the stock tends to follow the broader market. Low correlation means it moves more independently.
This page provides the same deep analysis as Advanced Symbol Analysis but for PSX indices (KSE100, KSE30, ALLSHR, etc.) and header indices (HBLTTI and others).
How to use:
Use index analysis to understand the overall market direction before analysing individual stocks. If the KSE100 is in a confirmed downtrend (RSI below 40, Aroon negative), be more selective with Buy signals on individual stocks.
Adding a holding:
Enter the symbol, quantity, buy price, and purchase date. The purchase date is used to start the portfolio performance chart from the date you actually bought the stock.
Price sources:
- Live (green dot): Intraday price from the most recent snapshot.
- EOD: Last end-of-day closing price (shown outside market hours)
- Cost basis: No price data available – showing your buy price
Portfolio Performance chart:
Shows how your total portfolio value has changed since your earliest purchase date. Each symbol’s price history starts from its individual purchase date.
Sector Allocation chart:
Shows how your portfolio is distributed across PSX sectors by current market value. Hover over each slice to see the sector name, value, and percentage.
Transaction History:
Records all portfolio activity including stock buys, sells, cash deposits, and withdrawals. Use this to track your trading activity and review your history.
